Our general adult psychiatrists typically treat individuals aged 18 and older who are experiencing a variety of conditions, including but not limited to general psychiatry, addiction medicine, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and schizophrenia. Adult psychiatrists provide medication management and psychotherapy.
We understand the importance of addressing mental health issues in children and adolescents and providing appropriate support for their well-being. Our psychiatrists will engage in a comprehensive discussion with you and your child, taking approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to thoroughly understand their unique situation.
During this 1st an appointment, our psychiatrist will delve into your child’s background, including their family dynamics, educational experiences, and social interactions. Our goal is to gather a detailed history that encompasses all relevant aspects of your child’s life. By exploring their current issues and challenges, we strive to gain a comprehensive understanding of how these factors impact their daily functioning and to develop the most suitable treatment plan tailored to your child’s specific needs.
Child psychiatric disorders can be categorized into three main types:
- Behavioral Problems: Includes emotional disorders, conduct disorders, and mixed disorders, often affecting social interactions and academic performance.
- Emotional Disorders: Involves issues like anxiety and depression, leading to persistent sadness or mood swings.
- Developmental Disorders: 1Includes Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), impacting social skills and learning.
Geriatric psychiatry, also known as psychiatry of old age, focuses on the treatment of neurodegenerative conditions, cognitive impairments, and mental disorders in older adults.
Disorders managed by geriatric psychiatrists include:
- Dementia (including mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and dementia related to Parkinson’s disease)
- Neuropsychiatric complications arising from stroke and multiple sclerosis
- Late-life presentations of psychiatric disorders (e.g., depression)
Additionally, our doctors can assist in preparing the preliminary mental health assessment report for the establishment of a “Certificate of Incapacity” or “Enduring Power of Attorney.”
The field of neurology focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the nervous system, particularly those involving the central nervous system, peripheral nerves, and autonomic nervous system, as well as associated vascular and tissue disorders. Common neurological conditions include:
– Multiple Sclerosis
– Myasthenia Gravis
– Epilepsy
– Guillain-Barré Syndrome
– Bell’s Palsy
– Motor Neuron Disease
– Blepharospasm
– Muscle Spasms
If you are experiencing symptoms related to these conditions, it is important to seek evaluation and care from a qualified neurologist.
Psychological assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of an individual’s cognitive skills, such as thinking abilities. This assessment is typically conducted by a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist as needed. It helps evaluate and understand the impact of various brain disorders on cognition, social skills, emotions, and behavior.
The assessment process involves standardized tests that measure cognitive skills, including attention, learning ability, memory, language skills, and executive functions (such as problem-solving, planning, and decision-making).
These tests are tailored to address specific concerns of the individual, including:
- Learning disabilities
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD) assessment
- Intelligence testing/gifted assessment
- Autism/Asperger’s syndrome diagnostic assessment
Clinical psychological assessments provide a comprehensive overview of an individual’s strengths and weaknesses. The information in the report supports personal diagnosis and treatment and can serve as a reference for managing cognitive function in cases of neurodevelopmental, neurodegenerative, and acquired disorders in the future.
Perinatal psychiatry is a branch of psychiatry that focuses on the management of mental health disorders during the antenatal and postnatal periods. While pregnancy and parenthood can be a wonderful experience, they can also present significant challenges.
Our psychiatrists provide support for patients through pre-planning, pregnancy, and post-natal care. This includes addressing issues such as postnatal depression, puerperal psychosis, and medication management during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
There is substantial medical evidence indicating that harmony in intimate relationships contributes to the emotional well-being of both partners. Effective communication is crucial in managing relationships. If conflicts arise frequently and cannot be resolved, it is essential to seek professional marriage and family counseling immediately.

- Sex Therapy (for issues such as sexual dysfunction, vaginismus, and premature ejaculation)
- Gender Dysphoria, also known as gender discomfort, refers to the distress experienced when an individual cannot identify with their assigned biological sex at birth. It is important to note that being transgender is not a physical or mental illness; however, societal pressures can lead many individuals to feel troubled and helpless. A professional assessment is often necessary to accurately diagnose the condition of gender dysphoria.

- Transgender Psychological Evaluation
- Transgender Hormone Therapy
If you or someone you know is experiencing gender dysphoria, seeking support from qualified professionals can provide guidance and assistance in navigating these challenges.
In addition to the dynamics of intimate relationships, sexual relationships are closely linked to the psychological health of both partners and individuals. If you have any doubts or difficulties, seeking professional consultation is highly recommended.
The Occupational Functioning Level Assessment is a tool used by occupational therapists to evaluate an individual’s ability to perform daily activities and engage in meaningful occupations. This assessment helps identify strengths and challenges across various areas of functioning, including:
- Self-Care Skills: Assessing the ability to perform personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Productivity: Evaluating skills related to work, school, or other productive activities.
- Leisure Activities: Understanding how individuals engage in recreational activities and hobbies.
- Social Participation: Assessing the ability to interact and communicate with others in social settings.
The assessment typically involves a combination of interviews, observations, and standardized tests to gather comprehensive information about the individual’s functional abilities. The results can guide the development of personalized intervention plans aimed at enhancing independence and improving overall quality of life.

Expressive art therapy is a therapeutic approach that allows individuals to express deep emotions and feelings that may be difficult to articulate verbally through symbolic means. This can include visual arts, writing, vocal expression, music, or movement.
By utilizing sensory experiences and imagination, individuals engage in artistic creation and role-playing, which can provide deeper insights into their true thoughts and feelings. This non-verbal mode of expression can help reduce anxiety and discomfort during the diagnostic process, minimizing the need to revisit traumatic experiences. As a result, the therapeutic process can become smoother and more comfortable for the individual.
